Withdrawal of apprenticeship frameworks

Wednesday, 25 May 2016
By: Skills CFA

As part of the ongoing project being done to progress the transition of frameworks to Standards, BIS have now issued the details of the second batch of frameworks that will be withdrawn from 1 December 2016. The withdrawal of frameworks covers both the ceasing of government funding for new starts and also to the framework being withdrawn from use for new starts for any apprentice, whether publicly funded or not.

The following frameworks will be closed from 1 December 2016:

  • 581 Business Innovation and Growth (Level 5)
  • 619 Contact Centre Operations Management
  • 552 Enterprise
  • 557 Fundraising
  • 558 Volunteer Management

Following feedback the following framework withdrawal date has been deferred to 1 April 2017:

  • 572 Public Relations

The above frameworks were considered to have had low volume of starts in the funding year 2014 to 2015 and so far in 2015 to 2016, or have replacement standards in development. This decision does not affect apprentices who are currently on one of the above frameworks, their agreed funding arrangements, and apprenticeship completion certificate can be claimed in the usual manner.

A full list of frameworks for withdrawal will be available here.
